Hang Urgu

The Hang Urgu is one of the new Pang instruments. It was introduced by PANArt during the Pang days end of August 2015. Participants were able to try out the new instrument along with the Pang ensemble. It resembles the Gubal, but has no tone circle. In the Pang ensemble it is the bass. Compared with the Gubal the bass sound of the air in the vessel (the Helmholtz resonance) is stronger because no energy is extracted for the sound radiation of the tone circle.

On April 25th, 2016 PANArt published a presentation video external_kl link. You need good headphones or speakers for the playback of the video. Otherwise you will probably miss the important bass sound of the Hang Urgu.
