I had never seen before this marvel. He accompanied an alto sax and they both made lovely sound. I whould have bought their CD but I recorded them with my digital camera. Marvelled by his fantastic instrument, I asked him whether he also played tabla (having lived myself for 6 years in India, tabla came immediately to my mind); he told me he was learning tabla (a very difficult percussion instrument, by the way). Thinking of buying a hang, I learned then of the prize. I think he told me some Euros 1500 or so. It's not cheap, but now that I know of the craftmanship involved and the fact that one has to order each instrument, I realize the cost involved. My question is: does anyone know whether there is any well known hang percussionist? Why Spaniards seem to have an edge with instrument? or perhaps I'm wrong?
